The beginnings: Ten medium-sized Austrian freight forwarders found General Parcel Austria (GPA) and thus laid the foundation for the GLS success story.
In touch with trends since 1993
It was in 1993 when 10 medium-sized Austrian freight forwarders had the idea to jointly establish a national parcel service and founded General Parcel Austria (GPA). From the very beginning, the focus was set on short standard delivery times, a dense network and high quality.
The service portfolio has grown continuously since the foundation of the company and today GLS Austria, as a part of the GLS Group, is one of Austria's leading parcel services. From flexible delivery options to environmentally friendly shipping and cross-border services: the shipping solutions have been based on the needs of customers and the rapid developments in the parcel market ever since.
