What we are looking for

You have successfully completed compulsory schooling. "School-level English" and the use of standard MS Office programs are not a problem for you. You like the world of logistics, are a strong character and a friendly & considerate team player.

What you will learn

Your apprenticeship will last for a total of three years and will take place in our company as well as at a vocational school. You will be trained in all operating procedures at the depot and will also learn about commercial and distribution-related activities.

When and where will you be employed

We offer apprenticeships throughout the year at our sites in Ansfelden (Upper Austria), Anthering (Salzburg), Fürnitz (Carinthia), Kalsdorf (Styria), Leobendorf, Steinabrückl, Traismauer (Lower Austria), Zirl (Tyrol) and Rankweil (Vorarlberg).

What is your apprenticeship about

It is often said that apprenticeship years are not master years. However, we think that an apprenticeship should not only be educational, but also be fun. For this reason trainings at GLS are certainly not boring because after all, we want our apprentices to look back with joy on this time of their lives.

Insights into all departments

Our goal is that all doors are open for our graduates after their training. Therefore, we strive to offer them insights into all areas of the company.

Accordingly, part of the apprenticeship will be to get to know different departments, such as sales, marketing, accounting or controlling. This means that our apprentices will be fit for all dynamic developments in the parcel industry and will be able to find their way around in all areas after successfully finishing their training.

Regular apprentice events and meetings

Of course, it is important for us that our apprentices are not only well connected in their depots and departments, but that they are also in constant communication with each other.

To this end, we organize regular apprentice meetings both in our Head Office in Ansfelden and also at all locations throughout Austria. But there is also the opportunity to get to know each other and have fun at apprentice events, such as joint excursions.

What your future may look like

The apprenticeship is the basis for your career. A career as a manager at GLS for example. Many of our colleagues have taken this path and are now in positions of responsibility. Your professional life could be like theirs if you stay motivated and think outside the box every now and then.

Adisa & Janine - Sales Service

The career paths of Adisa & Janine show amazing parallels and since both are now "best buddies" in our sales team, we have decided to introduce them together.

Both Adisa and Janine completed their apprenticeship as office clerks at the depot in Ansfelden and immediately decided to join our sales service team. Their main tasks now include the preparation of offers, customer support at the phone and phone acquisition as well as the interface function to customer IT and customer service.

The two of them only report the best about their apprenticeship: "Very versatile and not the typical office job, different departments, personal customer contact and an open first-name mentality" are the keywords that come up. Knowing all the different departments is now a big plus, as they not only know the company like the back of their hand, but are able to explain the overall picture to our customers.
